In the fall of 2014, Matt Hulse was living with two roommates in Columbia, Missouri. Matt had lived a transient lifestyle for many years and spent much of his time with his friend Eric in Madison, Wisconsin. Matt called Eric and they discussed him returning to Madison in the near future. This was the last time that Eric heard from Matt. A few weeks went by and Eric began to grow more concerned.
