Dave & Jonny spent the day with Matthew McClean this week and played Castlerock golf club. This year, Matt became the first Irish golfer to win a USGA final when he defeated his close friend Hugh Foley in the US Mid-Am at Erin Hills. Matt spoke to us about his season, his multiple near misses after a playoff defeat to Colm Campbell in the Irish Amateur Championship, a runner-up finish to Hugh Foley in the North, a semi-final loss in the Irish Close as well as two top-6 finishes abroad. Matt spoke about the relief of winning, as well as everything that comes with it, an invite to the US Open as LA County Club and The Masters.
