Matthew Outten's Syracuse Rise | Syracuse Orangemen Football News

Matthew Outten is poised to make an impact as a redshirt freshman wide receiver for Syracuse, bringing elite size, speed, and track pedigree to a receiver corps in need of talent. A former Penn State commit who sat out last season, he transferred to Syracuse in January and is now a top contender for a starting role. Rated a three-star transfer but a four-star recruit out of high school, Outten’s athleticism and versatility — including state championship track performances — align perfectly with head coach Fran Brown’s preference for multi-sport athletes. With the Orange’s receiving corps reshuffled, Outten’s opportunity is real — and his development this season could be pivotal to Syracuse’s 2026 campaign.
