But the mistake we sometimes make is thinking that because Jesus brings us peace and comfort, he wants us to pursue a life that is always peaceful and completely without risk. In this passage we see the comforting presence of Jesus and the call to follow him out onto the water to take a risk that will force us to exercise our faith.
