Maus I Chapters 4-6
from Two Bitches Reading Books Hosted by Two Bitches Reading Books
In this episode we finish up the last three chapters of Maus I by Art Spiegelman, after a quick conversation about what the Nazi party was before and during WWII. We talk about what happens in the book (in other words, what happened in Vladek's life), how the book has made us feel and how it reminds us of events that are happening around the world to this day. Here are links to what I read to understand the Nazi party, communism and socialism: https://www.britannica.com/topic/Nazi-Party/The-Nazi-Party-and-Hitlers-rise-to-power https://www.britannica.com/topic/communism https://www.studioatao.org/socialism?gclid=CjwKCAjw682TBhATEiwA9crl34rdkOaVvwevTfHhLqJbQNmA1xdgfmE8iol_WqO3dNxQiKxHYeOG2hoCATAQAvD_BwE Next up, we're rolling directly into the next graphic novel in this series, Maus II and we'll be back in two weeks to talk about the first three chapters!
