Mawkish Twaddle with Bob N., No. 320, 12/9/23

We’re now well into the annual deceleration of the new release schedule. That was just the excuse I needed to sprinkle more than the usual number of older selections into this week’s Twaddle. But there was no dearth of new tracks in the program. Far from it, as I spun enticing new sounds from The Small Square, Half Hexagon, The Maureens, Jim Nothing, Water Machine, The Jasmine Minks, Large Plants, Blue Orchids, Lavender Blush, The Spatulas, Zenxith, J. McFarlane's Reality Guest, Ian M Bailey, Pop Filter, Bory, The Quarterlies, Misophone, Primer Infant, Daily Worker, Cuticles, Überspannung, Seablite, Harp, Bill Ryder-Jones, Wurld Series, Hochzeitskapelle & Eddie Marcon, David Christian, Helen Infam, Novelty Island, Pop Crimes, The Bug Club, and Ducks Ltd. There was also a newly compiled selection from Soft Location, and newly reissued gems from Saint Etienne and Peter Gutteridge. From the past: Pezband, The Yummy Fur, Al Stewart, Barbara Manning, Lilys, The Sorrows (UK), Watoo Watoo, and Jim Noir. Also from the past, but listed separately to avoid irksome semicolons in the preceding paragraph, a weird and wild paean to LSD from Babs, Marina & De Hippe Vogels.
