May 22, 2026 — Today is National Vanilla Pudding Day, which might be one of the more unassuming things you’ll hear about today.Today we’re looking at moments where small beginnings led to much larger impact.From the Wright Flyer III in 1906 making flight practical, to Abraham Lincoln receiving a patent in 1849, to the massive 1960 Chile earthquake showing just how large-scale an event can become.Plus, a look at Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, whose creation of Sherlock Holmes shaped how people think about observation and deduction.It raises a question about how often impact isn’t obvious at the beginning.Anyway… that’s what I ended up finding while working through May 22.
