The Indian Army on Monday rescued 80 tourists after a technical fault stranded nearly 300 people aboard the Gulmarg Gondola cable car service in Jammu and Kashmir for around two hours. Rescue teams from the SDRF, NDRF and Jammu and Kashmir Police safely evacuated passengers trapped mid-air, while authorities launched an investigation into the malfunction, with overloading suspected as a possible cause. Meanwhile in Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK suffered another setback as three MLAs resigned and joined Chief Minister Vijay’s TVK.
