What you hold back continues to hold you. In this episode, Corey and Paris dig into one of the harder truths in recovery: that honesty isn't just a virtue — for people like them, it's the whole ballgame. What I hold back continues to hold me. Healing begins when I stop filtering the truth and allow what's buried to come into the light. Paris opens with a question: have you ever squinted at a text message you didn't want to read, then deleted it before you had to? That's what dishonesty with yourself looks like. Sticky notes on the bathroom mirror saying "I love God, I love myself" — that's what early recovery looks like. And John 8:32, the truth that sets you free — that's where it's all headed. Corey brings the honesty check nobody asks for: if you asked him whether he was 100% honest today, he'd say no. Because saying yes would be a lie. He pulls Big Book pages 72 and 74 — not admission to God and everyone in the room, but to God, to yourself, and to one human being, chosen carefully. Paris knows what that feels like.
