In this episode, Ruth Bader Ginsberg is the featured Everyday Heroine from the movies ‘RBG’ and ‘On the Basis of Sex’.

I give perspective on the many career phases and legal contributions that Ruth Bader Ginsberg brought to the laws of our country. She sets an incredible example of what is possible over a long and mighty career in the legal profession during a time when women were not wanted in the law.

Throughout the episode, I apply the 7 defining characteristics of the Everyday Heroine to the stories of RBG.

Then, I highlight the commentary about RBG’s strategy by Kathleen Peratis from the ACLU to inspire a simple yet powerful approach for creating change in the world. [26:26]

Finally, I use my perspective on Ruth’s career phases to inspire others to see the infinite possibilities of creating a career path that suits each woman’s unique life to make her dreams come true.

By the end of this episode, I expose the 7 defining characteristics of an Everyday Heroine as they relate to Ruth Bader Ginsberg as follows:

1.    [15:20] Answers her call to greatness with her skills or talents

2.    [12:25] Goes against the status quo to make the world a better place

3.    [19:33] Works toward self-mastery

4.    [9:16] Has the freedom to explore her passion & purpose in a way that inspires women’s leadership

5.    [28:26] Shows evidence of transformation

6.    [18:09] Must be a real human person, not a fictional character

7.    [27:40] Must earn notable accomplishments

The story of RBG transcends gender and generations. It is incredibly impressive to see how such a small, quiet, and smart woman can change the world through a passionate career in law.

Information presented in this episode was sourced from two movies ‘RBG’ and ‘On the Basis of Sex’.
