Mayoral Candidate: Claire Carmelia

Claire Carmelia has lived on the front range since 2012, and invested in Westminster by becoming a solo homeowner within walking distance of the new downtown in early 2020. Claire graduated SUNY Buffalo in 2010 with a degree in Environmental Science, and today is an IT Project Manager who leads infrastructure projects (cybersecurity, telephony, etc.) across the public and private sectors. Since moving to the front range, two of her four sisters have moved to the area as well; one in Aurora with Claire's two nieces who can often be seen around town or door knocking with Claire, and another who purchased 35 acres in CO Springs with her wife, after serving two terms in Iraq.Having grown up as a foster-adopt child from an unhoused family, Claire knew early on that education and hard work were her path to stability. She earned college scholarships through relentless dedication despite learning to read and write late, worked multiple jobs to support herself from the age of 18, then used those tools to build a successful career through the tumult of graduating into the Great Recession which had evolved the career landscape.Currently she serves on the Environmental Advisory Board, PSR Colorado, DRCOG, the Regional Transportation Committee, CML, and the North Metro Arts Alliance.
