Master Builders in taking a leading role with government to advocate maintaining investment in construction to limit the loss of jobs and investment in training and development. Residential building forms the backbone of the sector, accounting for 60% of its revenue.  It is also dominated by small local businesses who contribute greatly to the employment of more than 540,000 people last year and feed the skills pipeline by employing 80% of all building and construction apprentices. “While it is the large commercial projects that usually gain the most attention, it is our residential sector that will make the biggest impact to our economic recovery,” says Master Builders Chief Executive, David Kelly. “We need New Zealanders to continue to invest in their properties.    David shares three factors that reinforce why now is a good time to invest in property, to build or renovate a home.
