MBE EP 38 Sam Archer, NZGBC, on Building to a Homestar 6 Rating
from Master Builders Elevate: Building a Better Business · host Ryan Castle
Sam Archer from The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) shares how you can build to a Homestar 6 rating. A 6 Homestar rating or higher means the home will be easier and more cost effective to keep warm, healthy and more environmentally friendly than a typical new house built to building code. This podcast was delivered first as a live webinar to Master Builder members to help them understand how Homestar is designed to be good for people, and to have a lower impact on the environment. Participants asked questions which were answered during the session. Homestar is a comprehensive, independent national rating tool, run by the not-for-profit Green Building Council, that measures the health, warmth and efficiency of New Zealand houses. Homestar is owned, together, by all of us in the green building movement who want homes in Aotearoa to be healthy, warm, dry places for New Zealanders to thrive in.Sam ArcherDirector of Market Transformation, The New Zealand Green Building CouncilSam Archer is a Sustainability Consultant and Mechanical Engineer with over 18 years experience in the Construction Industry.
