The late former United Nations Secretary General Boutros Boutros-Ghali attempted to assert an authoritative role in his position and that is precisely what led to his downfall. In an exclusive interview with SABCNEWS in New York, former South African President Thabo Mbeki hailed Africa's first UN Chief as a political leader who embraced the responsibility to represent the people's of the world and lamented the loss of an outstanding African.
