MBL Minute: Creating Leaders And Community
from Master of Business Leadership Podcast · host Master of Business Leadership
MBL Minute: Creating Leaders And Community Episode Notes Creating Leaders Authentic, emotionally intelligent leaders are not born they are made. These are the types of individuals and organizations people are inspired to trust and follow. The Harvard Business Review has called emotional intelligence a revolutionary paradigm shifting idea. By reconnecting with our authentic selves while developing our emotional intelligence we inspire highly engaged followers. In contrast to the authentic, emotionally intelligent leader, the opposite occurs when individuals try to use positive-based power to control and manipulate others. They feed off of the drama, chaos and conflict this creates. Their actions are incapable of inspiring highly engaged trusted relationships. Community The greatest act of community service we can perform is living on purpose. When you are not living on purpose you end up working for someone else, following their Vision and not your own. You do not risk very much so you do not grow very much. You are driving through life with one foot on the gas and the other on the brake. The growing community of authentic emotionally intelligent individuals and organizations can be readily recognized by their ongoing commitment to living on purpose. Thanks so much for listening!
