McLeod Out, Bulldogs Rebuild Defense | Georgia Bulldogs Football News

Georgia’s defense takes a major blow as defensive tackle Xzavier McLeod abruptly retires just five days before their season opener against Tennessee State. A two-year Bulldog who was a key contributor last season with 17 tackles and six QB pressures, McLeod shocked fans by posting a retirement video last week. Once a four-star recruit who transferred from South Carolina after a disappointing freshman year, he now leaves a gaping hole at nose tackle — forcing the team to rely on Nnamdi Ogboko, Valdin Sone, and Nasir Johnson to step up. With the SEC title defense hanging in the balance, Georgia must quickly adapt without one of their most reliable interior linemen.
