In honour of International Women’s Day it seemed fitting to chat with my friend Laurie Allan about her love of coaching young girls in both softball and hockey. She's played softball for most of her life, but took up hockey only as an adult. Both have taught her life lessons and filled her life with friendships and fun experiences. She didn’t mean to talk about coaching and sports, but here we are. I hope you enjoy this meander – joy in sports, joy in coaching, joy in friendships of many kinds – it’s all here.
