Meaning of Confession

from The Vine Church Podcast

This week, Warren continues the occasional series on confession by speaking with two individuals from very different backgrounds about what confession means to them. First, Warren interviews Vine Church member Bridget Jarrett about what confession means to her as someone who grew up as a very devout Catholic, regularly practicing the sacrament of penance & reconciliation, as confession is formally known. Then Warren is joined by Rylan Scott, Pastor of Students at Houston Northwest Church. Although Northwest is a predominantly white, Baptist church, Rylan grew up in a predominantly black church in Houston that was steeped in the charismatic, Pentecostal faith tradition. As such, he learned the role of emotional and spiritual expression in confession. These two very different perspectives help continue to paint a technicolor tapestry of confession and the role it can play in Christian faith. Hosted on Acast.
