Meath County Council to Give Detailed Update on Long-Awaited Bettystown Park Plan - 19/08/2026

A long-awaited new park for Bettystown is set to take another step forward, with Meath County Council due to provide a detailed update on the project in the coming weeks.The six-acre site on the new Tara Road has been in the pipeline for years, with the formal planning process now underway.The proposed park is set to include a learn-to-cycle track, orchard, outdoor classroom, pump track, padel and pickleball courts, basketball court and a new community centre, along with changing facilities, parking and a café.The new chairperson of the Laytown-Bettystown Municipal District, Councillor Maria White, says she is hugely excited about the plans and believes the area badly needs the new facilities.Councillor White joinED us on The Agenda this morning to tell us more about this.
