Jeannie Zappe, a Mechanicsburg-area swim coach, successfully completed her second 21-mile English Channel crossing at age 60, finishing the swim in 15 hours and 10 minutes. Inspired by her husband Chris's early-onset Alzheimer's diagnosis, she undertook the challenge to raise funds for Alzheimer's research and has raised more than $27,000 for the Clear Thoughts Foundation.Also on the program, we focus on the rigorous training and responsibilities of lifeguards, with Wyatt Werneth, the American Lifeguard Association's Public Service Spokesperson, drawing on decades of experience in lifeguarding, marine operations, military service, and aquatic safety education, Werneth promotes safe water practices nationwide through media interviews, public outreach, and the development of health and safety programs.
