Medical Communication & Conflict Management

This program will discuss Medical Communication & Conflict Management. This presentation equips clinicians with practical strategies for effective communication in challenging clinical encounters. Learners will develop skills to convey empathy, strengthen patient relationships, and prevent, de-escalate, and respond to conflict. A structured communication framework applicable to serious illness conversations and difficult interactions—such as delivering bad news or addressing an angry, dismissed patient—will be introduced. Through recorded cases, participants will practice applying the framework and leave with actionable steps to integrate these techniques into everyday clinical practice.
