Medieval Times Part One: THE TRIAL

from wtflerosis: monologues from the neuromuscular carousel · host Kevin Fox

Act 3, Episode 5: Medieval Times Part One: THE TRIAL A marathon play by play of a medieval and futuristic and harrowing medical procedure. Yes, it's absurdly long. But you try to boil down 24 hours of non-stop go and see how short you can make it! Nothing is unimportant, the stakes are astronomical from minute one, you actually have to do something exactly right or it could permanently kill you or paralyze you, oh and by the way, you will be compromised by unplanned epic fasting. Will that be your last supper? So, yes, it IS long. So was Angels in America. That was great, wasn't it? This isn't that good, but maybe as good as some playoff games you've seen? And the whole time you listen, you CAN eat or drink or pee--whatever you want. And you can wear clothes and be in or outside in whatever space you choose. You do have that going for you :-) For the three of you who make it through, some followup: --Nurse Libby was the hero. Our parting was so anticlimactic. An unexpected hour together through mazes of hallways and elevators, a trip to a room and through a procedure new to both of us, she was positive and curious and awesome, friendly and professional. Back in the room, a few folks helped her slide me back on to the bed, and she said "alright, you're in great hands. Bye!" and she was off to help the next patient who needed her. --I didn't get to pee until the two hour neuro check post procedure, after 5pm. wtflerosis: monologues from the neuromuscular carousel. Cringe! Laugh! Share! You never know who might need this show. My first symptom was Feb 2022. Glad I tried it, really wish I could return it.
