Y también hay gente con hambre de divinidad, y quien le enseña a nutrirse de ella, realiza la obra de misericordia espiritual por excelencia. San Cesáreo de Arlés (470-542) tiene un sermón (25) tan sencillo como seductor. Leemos: “Dulce es el nombre de misericordia, hermanos muy amados; y, si el nombre es tan dulce, ¿cuánto más no lo será la cosa misma?” Y agrega: “Todos los hombres […] desean alcanzar misericordia, pero son pocos los que quieren practicarla”. San Cesáreo continúa: “Quien desee alcanzar misericordia en el cielo debe practicarla en este mundo”. Y como todos deseamos la misericordia, actuemos con misericordia, que nos hace comprensivos y generosos con todo el que aparece en nuestro camino.
