But sometimes it all feels,  So heavy and uncontrolled.  PAUSE… So let this be your time,  For me to honor you, For the millions of tiny details, That you heroically do.  Allow yourself to settle, And find the sweet caress, Of the rhythm of your breathing, It’s gentle, sweet finesse.  PAUSE… Now let yourself unravel, Releasing all the weight, You have carried mountains,  Now take them off your plate.  PAUSE… Breathe… And let it all go.  Breathe… Find a gentle flow.  LONG PAUSE… You probably may not notice,  How special it is at all, That you manage so much, All the big and small. PAUSE… Not only are you planning, All you need for you.  You’re in charge of others,  And their to-do list too.  PAUSE… The money, the home, the kids, All are in your queue. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
