They can separate us from joy. But if we let it, night can help. Rest can connect us again. PAUSE… First close your eyes and breathe in deep, Acknowledge the fatigue. Then try to sink beneath it, To the real you waiting below. PAUSE… It’s so easy to lose ourselves, Under layer upon layer of effort. And it takes a while to shed that skin, To strip ourselves bare once again. PAUSE… But night is the time to do it, Those magical, restorative hours. It’s then we remember why we tried in the first place, And decide we can do it all again. PAUSE… So find that pure you deep within. Greet yourself with a smile. Take your hand and settle in, Get ready for the dance. LONG PAUSE… Feel your essence as you pull in a breath. Feel its power grow as you exhale the excess. PAUSE… It may seem like you’ve forgotten how To let your soul move with abandon. But the memory of bliss never leaves you. It sits patiently and waits for the call. PAUSE… It remembers what sets your heart on fire. It knows what you long for most. It’s ready to leap into action, Whenever you give it the sign. PAUSE… Start with some inner music. Hear the melody of your yearnings. Let the song travel through your body, Waking mind and cells alike. PAUSE… See yourself in motion. Admire your strength and grace. Feel the moves come back to you, Ignited by the power of your song. LONG PAUSE… Enjoy the rhythm of your breathing, the way it lifts you up. Let the nourishing air fill you, then release and make space for more. PAUSE… Why do we forget to dance When life starts its rapid movement? Why do we send bliss into hiding Just when our spirits need it most? PAUSE… It’s not just you. We all do the same. The reasons may vary, But the choices look so much alike. PAUSE… But it’s time to break the chain. To close your eyes, and see yourself, As a joyful dancing soul. LONG PAUSE… Imagine how you’ll feel in the morning, Fresh from a night of gleeful twirling. Glowing and smiling,, Ready to face a fresh new day. PAUSE… Feel that smile deep within, breathe its joy into your chest. Send that smile out into the world, sharing your joy with all. PAUSE… Think about your younger days, The way you used to dance. Picture yourself shaking everything loose, As you move across the floor. PAUSE… Remember how free you used to feel, When you gave in to the music with relish. See your hair flying and your hands fluttering, Your hips swaying, and your heart thumping. PAUSE… Once again, you are carefree. Once again, your soul gets to celebrate, Once again, bliss leads the way. PAUSE… How long has it been since you felt like this? How long have you held yourself in check? How much have you missed such pleasure? How good does it feel to come back? LONG PAUSE… Feel your lungs sing as you breathe in. Feel at one with your body as you breathe out. PAUSE… Think about what might be different, If you let your soul dance regularly. Think about who you might be in the daylight, If you spend your nights feeling free. PAUSE… Perhaps there are other things, You might feel inspired to try. Now that your soul has come to life again, Now that you remember your self expression. This Impact Studios production is a collaboration with the Governor family, UTS Faculty of Law and Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research. The Last Outlaws teamKatherine Biber - UTS Law Professor and Chief InvestigatorAunty Loretta Parsley - Great-granddaughter of Jimmy Governor and the Governor Family Historian Leroy Parsons - Governor descendant, Narrator and Co-WriterKaitlyn Sawrey - Host, Writer and Senior ProducerFrank Lopez - Writer, Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
