Meet Congressional Candidate Abel Chavez

I had a wonderful time talking with Abel Chavez. He told me about his career path that took him from the classroom to the school board. More and more I’m seeing that the right wing targets school board positions as the foundation of their attack on our nation. They want to erode education, and frankly we should consider that waging war on our children. It’s great to know that Abel spent time working to create the kind of programs that make all the difference in a young person’s life.Early on in the discussion, Abel’s child came into the room and totally stole the show. That was the most adorable thing ever. I also knew it was a good sign when Abel popped on the feed and he was sitting in front of a whiteboard. I have one of those in my office too.We covered a lot of information, and once again I’m hearing rumors that Washington Democrats pressure excellent candidates not to run. The way I see it, if Washington Democrats have enough time to call up grassroots candidates, they can also call me and spend a few minutes on one of my livestreams. I have a few questions for them.It’s extremely frustrating how much money and effort is put into controlling what people see and think. Establishment Democrats lament that there is no “Joe Rogan on the left” but then they never spend any time or money or effort promoting the kind of rational, educated, compassionate messages our society so desperately needs.I found Abel Chavez to be authentic and engaging. His enthusiasm is contagious. I came into this discussion exhausted after a long week, and I left feeling energized and empowered. He’s the kind of leader we need.
