He is Co-Director of the IBD Center at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He was diagnosed with Crohn's when he was a teenager- before the information age and also before there were many treatment for IBD. He has devoted his career to analyzing "Big Data" to figure out how to predict disease outcomes, prognosis and flares. We talked to him about his longitudinal research, what he's learned, and how that's given him hope as an IBD patient.
