On this VIDEO episode of Southeast Iowa Today John Bain sits down with Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Mayoral candidate Kasey Conrad. Kasey Conrad shares her vision for Mount Pleasant and answers several questions from John including her thoughts on her YouTube video where she states, “Meanwhile, the GOP has mastered a message that speaks directly to a specific demographic. Mainly white, mostly conservative, men and women alike. It’s not a message rooted in fact or policy. It’s a message rooted in fear and identity. To the men they say, they’re taking your jobs. Replacing you at every level, diluting your culture. To the women, they say they’re coming to rape and kill you. The Democrats will not protect you, but we will.” John asks follow up questions after he shows his audience the video, such as who are “They” that she states the GOP is referring to and Kasey Conrad answers them.
