I have done everything from screenplays, novels, poetry, research articles and journalistic articles. I found that over time, I wanted my writing to be focused on how the human spirit is tested. Whether it causes positive or negative change in a character or the reader. I never knew what kind of writer I wanted to be until life became quite real and relentless. Plus, when I listened to others tell me their stories, how they moved on or were damaged because of it, I had a deeper appreciation for life and the power a story can have on someone.Furthermore, as I reflect on the stories in my life, I realise that I can immortalize them through my writing as experiences and moments of growth for my characters. I want both my life experience and those of others to connect with my readers. Genuinely of course. I can’t make someone feel something. They either do or they don’t. We all get something out of a book, poem, or movie we watch or read.Lastly, I have a bachelor's degree in creative writing from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Which helped me build my foundation as a writer and gave back my love of reading that I had lost for so long. However, my education is not what made me the writer I am today.
