The second installment of the series looks at Italdred, a London-based label that started with a bang after releasing its debut release The Beginning, a 68-track compilation in January of last year. Although primarily known for it’s hip-hop orientated sounds, the label recently dropped their fifth compilation, The (Nu) Beginning, which marks an expansion into footwork, garage, grime and other sounds. Prior to the release of The (Nu) Beginning, I spoke to Rob Huckle, Italdred’s founder, and Duncan Brazzil, the label’s A&R about how Italdred started, Rob’s other labels and the change that their most recent compilation represents to them.
