Meghan Cox Gurdon is the author of the memoir, Free Range Girl. The memoir focuses on Meghan's father, an idealist participating in the 1970s "back to the land" movement. He built their family cabin by hand, choosing to forgo modern conveniences like electricity and indoor plumbing. Left largely unsupervised in the analog wilderness, Meghan experienced a series of wild, formative adventures and mishaps during her childhood. Meghan joins the show to talk about her memoir, Free Range Girl, and to talk about growing up in the 1970’s in comparison to how kids are growing up now.
