埃塞俄比亚整个国家都没有门牌号码，也就没有邮局投递员。信件要到邮局的信箱去自取。首都邮局有四千多个信箱，各省首府的信箱只有二、三百个，均是由机关、高级官员及富有者租用。对于一般人来说，除非你自己在邮局里设有信箱，否则无法通信。因而，埃塞俄比亚绝大多数的家庭，世世代代都没有通过邮局寄出或收到过一封信件。心灵小语：方便，是先进的表示。
