Melanie Vogel is a solo adventurer who travelled the world extensively before she stepped on the Trans Canada Trail to begin her longest journey to date. Born and raised in Germany, she immigrated to Canada and decided to get to know this country by walking across it. Melanie started her thru-hike in Cape Spear, Newfoundland in June 2017 and is walking from the Atlantic to the Arctic to the Pacific Ocean. Melanie is using the art of storytelling to promote life in the outdoors, by sharing geographical, cultural and historical facts and anecdotes. She is also hoping to inspire others to live a more eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle with minimal impact on the natural environment.
