Melt
from Poetry by Tim Windisch · host Tim Windisch
Melt Tried to get inside your door tell you how I felt my feet just froze to the floor I think it’s time to melt Shootin’ me a stare Till you caught my eye Is there anything there? Why the fuck should I try? Pulling out the rug Flying head over heels Just a kiss and a hug Forgotten how it feels Said she loved to hear me sing Made her feel so tight But baby if I’m the king Why I feel like a jester every night? Tried to get inside your door tell you how I felt my feet just froze to the floor I think it’s time to melt Melt the ice holding me down Break free and take back my crown Melt the glacier slowing down my heart Swim for air, time to make a new start Oh! Please honey don’t She’s pulling on my shirt Stay with me, promise I won’t Treat you bad or make you hurt Yeah, she makes it sound so nice Rent a room, go down the aisle You’ll wind up choking on the rice She’s been double dealing all the while Only hurts when I try to think Curse the day I picked up my phone Don’t bother asking why I drink I think it’s best if I hang here alone Tried to get inside your door tell you how I felt my feet just froze to the floor I think it’s time to melt Melt the ice holding me down Break free and take back my crown Melt the glacier slowing down my heart Swim for air, time to make a new start Just melt Tim Windisch 03/30/2017
