Members Of The Public Are Advised To Remain Vigilant For Scam Emails Requesting Invoice Payments And Falsely Claiming To Be From Clare County Council

Clare County Council's cyber security team is urging people to remain vigilant amid a viable scam threat.  Accounts purporting to be the local authority have reportedly been emailing individuals seeking invoice payments.  It's understood the fraud has been replicated in several other locations already this year.  Project Leader of Clare County Council's ICT Department Jim O'Sullivan has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that anyone receiving an email should contact the council to verify its source.  Photo (c) Clare County Council
