Memory's a funny thing

Aquí unas cuantas lineas de esas que prueban que uno tiene el don del estilo y el jugueteo linguistico. El autor es Martin Amis y la novela se titula "Money". Memory's a funny thing, isn't it? You don't agree? Funnily enough I don't agree either. Memory has never amused me much, and I find the whole gimmick progressively less funny as I get older. It's funny: perhaps memory just stays the same but just has less to remember as the days and days lengthen, and life gets less memorable. Lying in the bath some slow afternoon, can you remember if you've washed your toes? (Peeing is boring, is,t it? Whew! Isn't that a drag?) I can't remember half the stuff I do anymore. But then I don't want to much. Whichever way you look at it, memory's a funny thing, isn't it?
