While male mental health in general is stigmatised and underdiscussed, the psychological welfare of military personnel is often simply swept under the carpet, with signs of post traumatic stress disorder ignored. In this audio documentary I travel to Ukraine to interview the men 'made out of steel' fighting for their country. How heavy a toll does the war take on the mental health of those on the front line? Is it possible to adjust to life after captivity, losing a leg or witnessing so many losses as a military medic?
