Over 1 billion women will experience menopause by 2025, and yet, there seems to be an alarming lack of awareness and understanding of this natural life transition among healthcare providers. My personal experience with menopause echoes this sentiment. The trials and tribulations I've faced in my hormonal journey – from weight gain and emotional turbulence to an overall feeling of losing control over my own body – have not been properly addressed by healthcare professionals. The struggle to get an accurate diagnosis, the fight for proper hormone testing, the resistance I faced when asking for hormone replacement therapy – all these experiences paint a grim picture of a system that fails women at a crucial phase of their lives.
