Erin is here to share that like most everything in life, your career path does not have to be linear! Having been diagnosed with ADHD at 9 years old, and with Anxiety and Depression at 13, we dive into the work Erin does with kids and teens today and ways we as parents can communicate better with our kids. Between her own personal experiences, and 10+ years in the mental health field this episode is full of ways we as parents can ask better questions, and create a safe space for our kids to come to us with questions themselves. Of course, we have tons of fun reminiscing on how our paths have evolved over the years, and our hopes for the work we are doing as parents, and with our girls!   01:40 Meet "little Erin"! 03:30 How has your career path changed throughout your journey? 08:00 Do you see yourself in the kids you work with? 14:45 How do you separate the tough cases at work and life when you come home to your family? 19:40 What is important to you as a conscious parent to show up for your kids? 22:00 Communicating emotions with your kids. 24:30 Creating a safe space for our kids to come to you with questions. 31:15 Do you ask your kids open-ended questions? 35:20 What has been your greatest lesson in life and in your career? 39:50 Meeting your kids with compassion and supporting them on their journey.
