Mental Health is YOUR Wealth

from The AJNashville Podcast · host AJNashville

Our minds are the most powerful things out there, and that can be dangerous for anyone. The important part is that we can control what we give to our minds in order for our thoughts to either flow freely or dry up. Our struggles are most often born internally, and instead of dealing with these problems while they're still contained within our brains, we think we know best and choose to ignore them.  We allow them to manifest into larger tangible situations in which we have to work harder to enforce damage control and risk others being involved or hurt by our own messes. Some people are better at deflecting other people's problems when they come their way, maybe because they've handled a similar situation, or are just better at staying emotionally grounded in high-pressure moments. The problems you are facing right now are indeed unique to you and are valid, but that doesn't mean someone else hasn't already conquered the same experience and able to provide useful insight for you on how to overcome the storm. You can easily let other people's limiting beliefs be the things that are keeping you from growing beyond your current confinements, if you choose to let them control your thoughts and actions. You can ask someone lost for directions and you will likely end up lost just as quickly. Or you can find motivation within other people's perspectives and let it bring about the positive shifts you need to make mentally by setting consistent procedures and respecting your boundaries, but you have to hold yourself accountable the most if you desire others to do so as well. Some days will be easier to process through your problems, other days will be a test of your strength and resilience. Some of those days you will feel as though you have failed yourself or others, and those are the days you need to slow down your thoughts. These are the days you will grow the most by highlighting to yourself how much you have changed already, and how you will redirect your energy to conquer the problem faster next time it surfaces, until there is no next time. We are all works in progress, the idea of perfection set by others can be so toxic and unhealthy. As long as you know you have given it your best at the end of the day, then that is your perfect and healthy. Be authentic to yourself before anyone else, but be kind in knowing you are your biggest supporter. You have to find your happy state for yourself and know how to get yourself there at any time. If you need others to tell you how to be happy, call them up if that's how you tap into positivity, and be ready to grow by learning what it is at the root that makes you truly smile. Then you can recreate that joy and wealth for yourself any time you want.
