Mental Health: Observing the Diversity in Emotional Expressiveness | How Values Affect Emotionality
from Support, Protect, Empower - The Project Purpose Podcast · host Rachelle Innocent
#MentalHealth #Emotionality #Expressiveness Hello Everyone, Welcome to our first segment on Mental Health, this week 😊 In today's discussion, we're going to touch on the complexities inherent in emotional expressiveness. More specifically, how the extent that we feel comfortable expressing how we feel, and even the way we tend to express our feelings, are informed by personal experiences. Our values, judgments and beliefs are at the undercurrent of how we show up in public and private spaces emotionally. Which means the same emotion translates differently, depending on the person expressing them. We often project our own values and judgments on the emotionality of those around us. Taking the time to understand why someone expresses their emotionality in a certain way, rather than assuming that their cause for expression is aligned to our own, is the best way to ensure that nothing gets lost in translation. #MentalHealth #Emotionality #Expressiveness #EmotionalExpression #Values #Understanding #CulturalDifference Do you have any questions?
