What impact does faith have through suffering and recovering from mental illness?

In this throwback episode of the Catholic Influencers Podcast during our season break, we revisit one of the very early episodes of this podcast with original co-hosts, Fr. Rob Galea and Danii Sullivan. This episode features a discussion about their personal stories of struggling with mental illness, how they look after their health and the impact that their faith has had in their suffering and recovery. It concludes with an interview with Fr Dan Strickland MGL, who has his Masters in Counselling and sheds some light on his experience of mental illness, what he's observed in his work and the strengths that can come out of battling mental illness.

Foyer Chats Utah.Church It's often said that some of the most profound and spiritual conversations of our lives take place not in the chapels and sanctuaries of our communities, but in the foyers just outside the venue. It's in these sacred adjacent venues where many of us dark sheep feel brave enough to ask the difficult questions, the "what if's", and what else is possible –– the conversations that would be considered heresy, blasphemy or downright too kinky for the pulpit.Foyer Chats is a podcast where we bring together religious leaders, musicians, performers, community leaders, organizers and everyday people who are brave enough to just go wherever the conversation takes us, as we discuss and explore the sacred space where anything is possible.
