Mental Wellness: How to Accommodate to Others With Yourself in Mind | Helping Others Shouldn't Hurt

from Support, Protect, Empower - The Project Purpose Podcast · host Rachelle Innocent

#MentalWellness #BeautyFromAshes #newbeginnings    Hello Everyone!   Welcome to our first segment on Mental Wellness, this week 😊   In today's discussion, we're talking about considering your needs while accommodating others.   To often, we can get caught in a cycle of self-sacrifice, where we are bending to satisfy the needs of those around us, to our own detriment. It's difficult to find your voice and break this cycle, because the act of self-sacrifice, even to one's detriment and harm, is celebrated in society.  We need to discount this rhetoric and start to demonstrate recognition for people who understand that accommodation has limits.  We can feel good about helping others while also being mindful not to harm ourselves, without being typecast as selfish.  Choosing yourself and valuing self-preservation, is fundamental to how we show up for those around us, in a meaningful way.   Do you have any questions regarding our resilience-building, parent-child workshops?
