Welcome to our first segment on Mental Wellness, this week 😊 In today's chat, we're talking about giving ourselves permission to feel vulnerable, and exposed. In a society that values strength and resilience, many of us carry a hidden shame when it comes to the emotions that speak to the opposite. The specific emotion in question, today: sadness. Many of us experienced criticism and reproach in response to our expressions of sadness while we were young. Whether we were called weak, guilted or shamed for our tears... As a result, many of us have adopted maladaptive ways to manage the emotional pain that we carry. There is courage and bravery in allowing ourselves the space to feel. Especially pain. Contrary to popular opinion, it takes strength to feel the pain and allow ourselves to be transmuted by it. I'm hoping my journey helps someone take the leap of faith on their own. In truth, sadness is an emotion that I've discounted for far too long. It's truly an integral aspect of this human experience. #mentalwellness #sad #healingjourney Any questions?
