Mental Wellness Moment — seasonal affective disorder

from AHS Podcasts · host Alberta Health Services

Seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, is a disorder that's marked by symptoms of low mood, low energy, changes in sleep patterns and changes in appetite. For people in the northern hemisphere, those with SAD start exhibiting these symptoms in late October and early November when we start seeing significant reductions in daylight. In this Mental Wellness Moment podcast, Dr. Nicholas Mitchell, Provincial Medical Director of Addictions and Mental Health, explains what SAD is, and how it is diagnosed and treated.
