Mental Wellness: The Process of Recovery | Detoxifying From Narcissistic Abuse & Toxic Relationships

from Support, Protect, Empower - The Project Purpose Podcast · host Rachelle Innocent

#MentalWellness #Purpose #growth 0:00 - 2:30 - Intro 2:30 - 11:55 - Developing Self-Respect 11:55 - Wrap Up Hello Everyone, I hope all is well. Welcome to our second segment on Mental Wellness, this week 😊 In today's conversation we're talking about how to detox once we've ended those toxic and abusive relationships. When we are ready to choose ourselves, for many of us that translates as putting an end to either narcissistic abuse or other forms of toxic relationships. While it signals the end of a turbulent and stressful time, it also means the first step in our journey to healing. While healing involves learning how to love ourselves and mend our wounds, it also means we start to look inwards and figure out key areas that we need to develop, to ensure that we do not fall victim to abuse again. This means we start to build a robust, and healthy mental frame for self-respect. The kind of self-respect that will keep us from engaging with personalities and relationships that can not serve us in any future part of our journey. While love and respect often go hand in hand, cultivating a comprehensive frame of self-respect is how we find our way to creating coping mechanisms and strategies to keep the toxic people at a distance.
