Astrologically Mercury represents communication, business, in the element of air. Like the moon affects the tides on the earth, other planets affect other energies that are more subtle. When Mercury is retrograde it is not the best time for starting completely new projects. Often you may need to review, revise, and rewrite things many times during the retrograde. You can ameliorate these negative facts by doing pranayama practices. One of the most powerful pranayama techniques to manage the air element in your body, breathe easier, and clear your mind is alternate nostril breathing. In this episode, I will guide you through breathing through one nostril at a time, then into alternate nostril breathing. This is also known as Nadi Shodhana or “channel cleansing breath.”
