Filmed on location in Virginia, "Mercy Street" follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War. Inspired by memoirs and letters from real doctors and nurse volunteers at Mansion House Hospital in Alexandria, this drama reveals the stories of those struggling to save lives while managing their own hardships. On the next Another View on Health, we'll explore the history of medicine and health care during the Civil War with historians Dr. Cassandra Newby-Alexander of Norfolk State University,and Audrey Davis, director of the Alexandria Black History Museum, along with cardiologist Dr. Keith Newby.
