The Paradoxes of Human Happiness--Paradox No. 5 "Mercy's Rich Reward" "Blessed are the merciful , for they will be shown mercy." Mt. 5:6 "He who shows no mercy to others, destroys the bridge that he himself must cross," Someone once observed. If only we could remember that, when tempted to harden our hearts toward the needy, or to retaliate for the wrongs of another!
