Messick Shines, Guardians Stun Marlins | Cleveland Guardians News

Parker Messick is headed to the All-Star Game on a high note after pitching a stellar game, allowing just one hit — a home run — in a 3-2 win over the Marlins, ending their six-game win streak and Sandy Alcantara’s seven-game run. Supported by Chase DeLauter’s two-run homer and Travis Bazzana’s sacrifice fly, Messick cruised to victory with a solid bullpen led by Hunter Gaddis and Cade Smith, who notched his 28th save — a league-leading total. DeLauter’s 10th homer this season makes him the first Cleveland rookie to reach that mark before the break since 2021, and he’s now tied for the most multi-hit games by a rookie in Cleveland history since 1977. With an 8-5 record and a 2.37 ERA, Messick’s strong first half has him ready to shine in Philadelphia. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
